my superhero's!

Today at school McCade had to write a letter to us, he "wrote" in his teacher's handwriting... dear mommy and daddy, I love you so much, thank you for my toys, my bed, and thank you for my brother. I love it that he loves his brother. They are best friends and so sweet!

Dylan is 2 years old!

I am so behind in blogging I have no idea where to start... so I'll just start with today, and hopefully stay on track. I think this year the trees are extra beautiful!
My sweet 2 year old. We were throwing rocks in the pond today while Andy and McCade were sitting in the deer stand, waiting for the perfect, poor trophy deer.

Time for a first hair cut??? Now that humidity is fading, I am getting really close to cutting that hair... :)

my handsome brother and beautiful soon to be sis-in-law

My brother Stephaan is getting married!! I am so excited for him. I haven't met Nikki yet, but these pics say it all. I love it. They live in South Africa, and will get married there in January. So I will miss all the family fun and wonderful occassion. But hopefully they will come visit us soon.

our Dylan

some cute pics from this weekend

McCade's first aggie game!

Andy took McCade to an Aggie game, and was he excited!! We told him when he is 4 he can go. Before they left he made sure to tell Dylan he can't go because he is 1 and NOT 4! Andy said he did so good and had a blast. I was a little worried about him. Football games to me is extremely long and boring, so I was worried McCade will think the same. But no, the only time he fussed was when they had to leave. His favorite part was the airplanes flying over the field, singing songs and seeing firemen :)

Back to school

Well, I can't believe it but McCade is in pre-K this year!! He will be only going twice a week... which is still very tough for him. I told him the other day that most of his friends go 3x/week or every day, so his response was he only wants to go one week! He says he misses me and Dylan. How sweet... :) When I get him from school he gives Dylan the longest hug and a few kisses.

a very special girls' night out!

Our very good friends from South Africa came to visit. They are like family to us, and I enjoyed every moment with them. They are the main reason why we decided to move to Tyler, Texas. We missed you Elma, and wish you could be here as well!!

a dream come true

since McCade was little he absolutely loved any kind of truck (one of his first words) or construction vehichle. He knows all the different kinds and the specific names for it. So when Pops had a bulldozer in his yard it was the coolest thing ever. He was so excited to get to ride it, so proud! As a mommy I think I was even more excited... it was such an amazing feeling to know one of my son's dreams was coming true. I thank God for it, I know He planned it :)

Nonnie and Pops' garden

The boys love looking for and picking the (organic!)vegetables. Just wish they would love eating it too!

love this pic!

I love the way McCade is protecting his brother with his arms and Dylan resting his head on McCade's shoulder, so sweet. :)

i love popsicles!

It is amazing what popsicles do to my boys' mood. If they are cranky I give them each one, and they are happy as can be.

Summer is here!

We have been enjoying summer so much! Swimming, hanging out with friends, riding on boats and jet skis, eating popsicles, ice cream, grilling, swimming, and swimming! Just so much fun! Dylan especially love going out on the boat, he is every time so close to falling asleep, but of course fights it. McCade is becoming like a little fish in the water, finally that swimming lessons is paying off. Here we are, back from a day on the lake, sitting in our driveway eating ice cream :)

Dylan is 18 months old!

We went for his well check up and he is in the 100th percentile for height, 36 inches, 27lbs which is the 78th percentile. He is such a joy! He tries so hard to talk, his pronunciation of words are so cute. Dylan has been enjoying swimming so much, for a year he watched his brother every Thursday getting swimming lessons, and finally he can get in the pool too. He floats all over the pool. It is actually nice, Mommy can sometimes (only sometimes) sit on the side and watch her two boys play in the water, really relaxing, and sweet moments.
